A Fantastic Start to the Autumn Term
What a fantastic start to the Autumn Term! The children have settled back into school brilliantly and have embraced the many exciting learning opportunities on offer.

Throughout the term, we have enjoyed five weeks of tennis coaching with Amy from Wrexham Tennis and Padel Centre, developing our skills, confidence and teamwork. This was rounded off with a fantastic Tennis Engagement Day at the Lexus Wrexham Open. The children took part in a range of tennis activities, enjoyed a Q&A session with professional players and even had front-row seats to watch a ladies’ quarter-final match. It was a wonderful experience and perhaps the inspiration for some future tennis stars!

Celebrating Welsh Culture
The children enjoyed a fun and interactive online Kahoot! quiz, hosted by Huw Davies from Eysgol. They watched a series of clips celebrating Welsh culture before putting their knowledge to the test by answering multiple-choice questions in Welsh. There were some super-speedy answers, lots of enthusiasm and plenty of fun along the way. Da iawn, everyone!

Bishop Gregory’s Christmas Card Competition
Our talented young artists have been busy creating beautiful artwork for Bishop Gregory’s Christmas Card Competition, inspired by this year’s theme, “The Star of Bethlehem: Following the Light.” Drawing on the Gospel readings of Matthew 2:1–12 and John 1:5, the children explored the story of the Wise Men following the star to find Jesus. They reflected on the themes of guidance, hope, wisdom and the light of Christ. As John 1:5 reminds us: “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” The children used their creativity and imagination to bring this meaningful Christmas message to life through their wonderful artwork.

Restart a Heart
Earlier this term, we took part in a UK-wide Restart a Heart live lesson, learning an incredibly important life skill – how to perform CPR and potentially save a life. The children practised performing CPR using their jumpers, keeping to the rhythm of Baby Shark to help them remember the correct technique! They learned the important steps: check for a response, call 999 and begin CPR. We also explored how to request a defibrillator and how this vital piece of equipment can help save someone’s life in an emergency. A valuable and engaging session that equipped the children with knowledge that could one day make a real difference.

Harvest Service 2026
Our Harvest Service was a wonderful celebration, and the children did an amazing job! We were incredibly proud of their contributions, beautiful singing and fantastic use of British Sign Language (BSL) to accompany our Harvest song. A huge thank you to everyone who generously donated to our Harvest collection. Your kindness and support are greatly appreciated. All donations were shared with Wrexham Food Bank to help support individuals and families within our local community. It was a lovely opportunity to reflect on the true spirit of Harvest – gratitude, kindness and sharing what we have with others.
What a busy and memorable start to the school year! We look forward to all the exciting opportunities and experiences still to come.
