Spring Term 2024 in Year 2

Welcome to the exciting spring term in Year Two!

We have been captivated by the enchanting tale of “Lost in the Toy Museum” by David Lucas. As the lights dimmed at the toy museum, Bunting, our wise toy cat, embarks on a delightful adventure to find his friends.

We began our exciting theme with a visit from The Victorian School, Alan immersed us in the enchanting world of traditional toys! The experience not only allowed us to explore the evolution of toys over time but also offered valuable insights into the materials that crafted playthings of the past.

Our own mystery unfolded when a box of toys, destined for The Toy Museum in Bethnal Green, London landed in our office by mistake! Thanks to a friendly call by Mr. Morris to the museum, we are now the temporary custodians of these treasures, adding an unexpected twist to our learning journey.

We have also taken part in the RSPB Big Bird Watch, it not only connected us with our feathered friends but also turned our classroom into a hub of mathematical exploration through data handling.

We had lots of interesting discussions as part of Internet Safety Day. We sorted old and new technologies and had to design a new piece of technology for the future, lots of good ideas!

Buckle up for more excitement after half term. Our upcoming adventure takes us to Blists Hill Living Museum, where we will experience a day in the life of a child in a Victorian school. I wonder which the children will prefer!
