🎈 Up, Up and Away – A Summer Term to Remember! 🌞

As soon as the new half-term kicked off, we were treated to an amazing surprise — a visit from the incredible Rainbow Balloon team! The whole school got to enjoy a hands-on experience with a real hot air balloon, and it’s safe to say it was a huge hit with everyone. There were gasps, wide eyes, and lots of excited chatter — it truly brought our new topic, ‘Journeys’, to life!

Inspired by Aaron Becker’s stunning wordless picture book Journey, we’ve been using our imaginations to go on adventures of our own. We’ve also learned about real-life adventurers like Sophie Blanchard, the first woman to pilot a hot air balloon, who amazed crowds with her daring flights. Her story sparked our science investigations too — we explored floating and sinking with hands-on experiments (and a bit of splashing along the way!).

📚 Learning, Exploring and Growing Together

Transition days gave us the perfect chance to get to know our new classmates. We spent time playing cooperative games, laughing together, and getting a sneak peek at the year ahead. At Forest School, we got creative with nature — dyeing fabric using natural materials and working together to design beautiful displays for our new classroom doors. It was teamwork, creativity, and muddy hands all rolled into one!

In maths, we’ve been revisiting 2D shapes before diving into the exciting world of 3D shapes — naming them, sorting them, and learning all about their properties. Who knew geometry could be so much fun?

💬 Changing Me – Growing with Jigsaw

In PSHE, our Jigsaw theme has been ‘Changing Me’, helping us understand more about what makes each of us special. Through thoughtful workshops and class discussions, we’ve explored what makes us unique, and what connects us too — celebrating our differences as boys and girls and everything that makes us us.

💛 A Term Full of Happiness and Fun

It’s been a wonderful few weeks — full of curiosity, laughter, learning, and togetherness. We’re so proud of all we’ve done and can’t wait to see where the rest of our journey takes us next!
