Autumn 2025 in Llyn Alwen

A New Year of Adventure at St Mary’s!

As we return to school, excitement fills the air as in Llyn Alwen we have formed new friendships and enjoyed working with different groups! The start of the academic year always brings a buzz, and this year is no exception. It is wonderful to see how the children are already engaging with one another, establishing bonds that will set us up for a successful the year.

A special highlight is our Year Three pupils stepping up as mentors for Year Two. They are truly doing an amazing job, guiding their younger peers with enthusiasm and kindness. It is heartwarming to watch these budding leaders inspire confidence. We are incredibly proud of how they have embraced this responsibility!

This year is particularly special as we celebrate St Mary’s 40th Anniversary! What an achievement! To commemorate this significant milestone, we are embarking on an exciting exploration of the school’s rich history. Throughout the year, students will have the opportunity to delve into the archives and discover what makes St Mary’s so unique. The children will collaborate to create stunning pieces of artwork that reflect their findings and celebrate our school’s legacy.

We encourage everyone to join in these activities and make the most of the year ahead. It is a time for laughter, learning, and creativity as we honour our past while looking forward to the future. Together, we will make this anniversary a memorable one, filled with joy and inspiration. Here’s to a fantastic year at St Mary’s – let the adventures begin!

Here are some photos of some of the things we’ve been doing so far this term – exploring the outdoors, making apple juice, creating apple art, working on our maths and literacy, learning new computer skills, discussing our rights, making music and learning BSL!
