The Autumn term FGB meeting took place on October 15th, 2025.
In this meeting, the Chair and Vice-Chair of the governing body were elected, and the members of subcommittees and link governors for the academic year were decided:

- Chair – Angharad Veneklaas Slots
- Vice-Chair – Rachel Harris
- All eligible governors are members of all sub-committees.
- Link governor for Additional Learning Needs – Jo Holland
- Link governors for Safeguarding – Rachel Harris & Angharad Veneklaas Slots
- Link governor for Children Looked After – Angharad Veneklaas Slots
- Link governors for Health & Safety – Sarah Carpenter & Simon Hughes
- Link governors for Health and Wellbeing – Sarah Evans & Jo Holland
- Link governor for Expressive Arts – Rachel Harris
- Link governors for Humanities – Paul Ashton, Jeremy Dussek & John McCusker
- Link governors for Language, Literacy & Communication – Charlotte Copeman & Sarah Carpenter
- Link governors for Maths and Numeracy – Paul Ashton & Angharad Veneklaas Slots
- Link governors for Science and Technology – Angharad Veneklaas Slots & Simon Hughes
- Link governor for Pupil Voice – Kate Davies
Governors received reports from the Headteacher, subcommittees and link governors, detailing what has been happening in school since the last meeting. These reports gave the governors an insight into and an opportunity to discuss and question the school’s finance, staffing, premises, school’s links with the Church and Diocese of St Asaph, educational opportunities to enhance the curriculum such as trips and workshops, staff and pupil wellbeing, attendance and behaviour, and any issues which could impact health and safety, safeguarding, additional learning needs (ALN) and children looked after by the Local Authority.
In this Autumn meeting the headteacher also explained the findings of school’s self-evaluation. Governors were able to question, comment and make suggestions, and a School Development Plan for the academic year was agreed, with link governors assigned to each objective:
- Priority 1: Communication, including enhancing our feedback to ensure pupils are confident in their next steps and continuing to strengthen the use of Cymraeg across the whole school community Link governors: Sarah Carpenter & Charlotte Copeman
- Priority 2: An increased focus on the wellbeing of pupils becasuse when pupils feel safe and supported, they engage and achieve. Link governors: Jo Holland & Sarah Evans
- Priority 3: To further develop mathematical reasoning skills helping pupils solve problems logically, to think critically, and apply mathematics to real-life situations. Link governors: Paul Ashton & Angharad Veneklaas Slots

Arrangements were made for link governors to meet their staff counterparts in early Spring and a governor training meeting with Menopause Thrive and Connect was arranged for later in the Autumn term.
