What a truly magical term it has been in Nursery and Reception! Our little learners have been fully immersed in the enchanting world of traditional tales, and we have had such a wonderful time exploring these stories together. We even kicked off our adventures with a virtual visit from the Story Museum! This delightful experience allowed us to hear some familiar tales as well as discover some new ones we had never encountered before.

In Maths and Numeracy, we have been busy creating number lines and measuring ingredients to bake our very own gingerbread people. What a treat! We made predictions about the weight of porridge for the three bears – some of our guesses were spot on, whilst others had us giggling with surprise!

Our Science and Technology sessions have sparked creativity in problem-solving. We designed and built a bridge to rescue the Gingerbread Man from the fox – teamwork made it all the more enjoyable! The children have also been constructing beds and chairs of varying sizes to replace those broken by Goldilocks, all while developing their engineering skills. And let’s not forget the excitement of creating story maps using our Beebots and Mtinys!

Outdoor learning has been equally thrilling! The children made pebble trails, guided by the story of Hansel and Gretel, leading our friends through forest school, filled with wonder and adventure.
In Expressive Arts, our tiny artists used their observational skills to create beautiful, detailed paintings of bears. They even employed iPads for research, showing off their tech-savvy skills!
Finally, during Literacy, we shared our favourite traditional tales, crafting our own stories with amusing twists and alternative endings. What a fantastic term, filled with creativity, learning, and laughter! Here’s to more adventures ahead!
