Summer Term is always a busy time in Year 6, the highlight of which is our 5 day residential in May to Condover Hall in Shropshire. Everyone had a great time and thrived on the challenges and new experiences to grow in confidence.
The sun shone for Year 6’s last Sports Day. Well done to Clwyd who were overall House Championship winners and to Lucas and River, who received the Victor and Victrix Ludorum medals for their individual performances.
Pupils enjoyed taking part in four days of Bikeability training in June and everyone was successful in achieving their Level 2 Bikeability certificates. Da iawn, pawb!
Our Skillforce sessions this term have been busy; further pushing us to be our ‘best selves’. As part of the award, pupils must embark upon a Social Action Project; the class decided to create a Daisy garden as part of the school’s new Reading Den area – a beautiful reminder of our classmate,Daisy Haynes, whom we lost in 2017.
Year 6 have been having fun in their final weeks at St Mary’s; building lasting memories before they move on to their new secondary schools. We had a fun-filled trip to the Crocky Trail in Chester and a dance-tastic Leavers’ Party at the Buck House Hotel in Bangor-on-Dee.
