Autumn Term 2020

Autumn 2020

It has been wonderful welcoming the children back to St Mary’s after such a long time apart. The children have settled right back in and have really impressed us with their resilience and attitude to their learning.

We have been focusing on the heartfelt book ‘Here we are’ by Oliver Jeffers which explores our planet and how we live on it. The children really engaged with the book and have written poems about their favourite places and letters to people that are special to them. After reading Here we are, the children wanted to learn more about Space. The children have been learning about our solar system and constellations and have even designed and made their own constellation viewer. The children especially enjoyed making space themed ceramic pots out of clay.

The children are really relishing being outside for outdoor learning and have been pruning and trimming back our forest school area.

We have included some photos to show you what we have been up to below.
