In March it was so lovely to welcome Reception children back and to have time together in school. We did lots of activities using our favourite teddies as a link between home and school. This helped with the transition back to school and was great fun getting to know everyone’s favourite teddy.
We had great fun on World Book Day connecting via Zoom with Authors of three great picture books; Jonny Duddle who wrote ‘Gigantosaurus’, Julia Patton who wrote ‘Number 7 Evergreen Street’ and Jon Kane who wrote ‘I say Boo You say Hoo’. The children were able to listen to the authors reading their stories and to hear them talking about how, and why they love to write children’s books, We were very grateful to Mrs Richards our Year 2 teacher and Booka Bookshop Oswestry for organising.
From the 19th – 25th April it was Outdoor Learning week and we had a wonderful week exploring and discovering signs of Spring. We used our loose parts for team building challenges, used our senses and got muddy!
Our theme this term has been Growing and it was extremely exciting to see our sunflowers starting to germinate and grow. Everyone has taken a sunflower home and we cannot wait to find out in September whose sunflower has grown the tallest!
We’re looking forward to all the fun and learning we will have together in the last 6 weeks of term.
