Autumn Term 2022

We have began our learning this term by looking at the story The Path by Reid Larsen, as we explored the story the children asked questions about the journey and landscape and together we decided to take a closer look at habitats and the explorer Ernest Shackleton. We went on our adventure to our local wildlife area, and explored the garden and created maps of our travels. We have explored our own forest school area, hunting for mini beasts and looking for signs of Autumn. We tried the Japanese art of Hapa zome, creating beautiful leaf dyed prints.

We celebrated Harvest by reciting a poem about Harvest time, and writing a prayer about why we celebrate Harvest and to give thanks to farmers and to God. We confidently recited our poem and prayer in Church in front our friends and families.

We are developing our Growth mindset together and encouraging each other to not give up when things getting difficult and to have a ‘can do’ attitude which is helping try new things and give us confidence to keep trying even if things get tricky.

We have recently been developing our new woodwork area. The children have begun to explore the tools and learn about how to work safely. This is an exciting new project and we are looking forward to what we might build!!!
